Thats right Nora. Non members only pay the non member PITCH fee if they have a separate pitch. If they are staying in a members unit, they do NOT pay it. Don't forget it is high season and some of the top club sites do charge almost £10 per person per night. They are paying for the use of the facilities.

Its true that no extra charges for non members were included in price. Had this been the case it would have been nearer £50 a night.
To those who don`t understand why I am complaining, let me explain. I have been camping for many years all over the UK and have never paid more than £28 which was for a top quality site at late notice (even then I thought this too much, but at least we had WIFI and leccy).
So, I saw an advert for a friendly club and thought what a great idea. At this point I had no reason to question prices. I wrongly assumed that they would be on par with other sites. I had no reason to suspect that a grass pitch with no electric was £38 - twice the going rate.
We would never pay that much for a pitch. We left the c+cc as we didnt cind it very friendly and didnt like not having a pitch choice.
We much prefer the cc.

After an absence from C & CC for over 6 years, we decided to give them another go to open up more options for us. We then found that there were hardly any suitable CS within a hour's drive although we live on the edge of the Cotswolds.
We used the main show site at Blackmore in Malvern earlier this year and we were worried using the site road as it was full of pot holes! Wardens were very rude and unhelpful! Cancelled membership after 1 year after only using two of their sites. The other site in St Ives was very nice.
BTW the over fifties discount worth nothing as CC sites normal price is the almost the same so you do not gain anything there.
Never again!

The only time I've not had a choice of pitch on a C&CC site was at Corfe Castle one August and that was because there was only one tent pitch left. At Graffham they often show you the plan on arrival and let you pick where you want to go.
Any site that charges per person is likely to be dearer for families or large parties. Any site that charges per pitch is likely to be dearer for couples or singletons. As I never camp with more than 1 other person, the charge per person suits me fine.
