I saw your post the other day and was going to reply, but I have now done a review of Valley Club at Harrogate - I'm not sure if it's on the system as yet, though.
We have a caravan there, which we can use six months of the year, and though it's a no-frills site, it's a lovely place in the sunshine. Your son and his girlfriend could have a day visit, by arrangement, or request to join and put a caravan on a pitch there. Fees are £100 each person per year either as full or day members, plus £150 to put a caravan on a pitch. This may have changed since we joined. Day members can visit as much as they wish but not stay overnight, however, there is accommodation to rent (a small caravan or a small chalet) for £10 per accommodation per night and day members can take advantage of this if the accommodation is not booked. There is a bar and clubhouse where there is electricity, and a large screen TV and drinks are available. Meals are offered when there is a 'function' or when a lot of members are present. Most of this is on my review.
They are a very friendly bunch - mostly older members, but a couple of young families - and there are vacant pitches at the moment.
