Why didn't they park the car in gear like normal people? Couldn't have happened then.

Steve it is possible that the child did it as some of the vauxhall cars have a push button handbrake instead of the usual "lever" type I know this as ours has the button type and we hate it :-(

always leave car in gear if on any kind of slope and proper yank it on too.
