Sea View at Durdle Door holiday park is with a doubt our all time favorite place to go. We just love the sea views, the simplicity and the fact that we can just walk down to the sea. BUT shock....horrors....when I phoned to book a couple of nights I was told its completely full!!
Does anyone know of a site within walking distance of a sea that we can swim in on the Dorset coast? Nothing fancy needed, just a loo and shower.
We live in Wiltshire which is about as far from the sea as we can get.

Try Golden Cap at Seatown near Bridport. It's very close (look on google street view) to a shingle beach, about 150 metres walk away along a quiet country lane, lovely pub (The Anchor) also next to the beach with outdoor seating.
I'd second the recomendation for Golden Cap. Stayed there last weekend (1 Sept) and it was glorious. Superb campsite with excellent facilities. Take plenty of wedges because it does slope a bit !

I was going to suggest that! It's a lovely site and the walk up the bridleway to the George in Chideock only takes about 20 mins, so you have 2 nice pubs within staggering distance.

Thank you for all your suggestions. I think we have stayed at Golden cap as we have friends that live in Bridport. I think we're going to stay put this weekend. As we've been away for most of the summer hols we could do with some time at home. It was a case of Durdle Door or nothing!
Incidentally when we stayed at Golden Cap we noticed a campsite across a small valley, it looked like it was terraced. Does anyone know it? I don't think its listed here.
