Have never stayed in Devon before, holidaying in Cornwall for many years, so looking for guidance on really nice quiet, clean campsites in Devon to stay around 4-6 nights. We enjoy walking and cycling. With many thanks in advance.

Cofton near Dawlish is lovely with a beautiful new indoor pool complex. It's clean and quietand the facilities are well kept. It's near the sea and beaches and good woodland walks/cycle tracks in nearby Haldon Forest. Cycle paths all the way to Exeter which is a nice Cathedral city if you have never been. The Anchor pub just down the road is worth a visit for the food and real ales.

Another vote for Cofton. The River Exe Estuary cycle path is now complete and you can cycle to Cockwood from Dawlish Warren then onto Exeter through Starcross and then down the other side of the Estuary to Exmouth. It really is beautiful down here and with Haldon Forest and Exmoor on the doorstep too it's an added bonus IMO.

Thumbs up for the Anchor pub too, great food.

There are absolutely loads to choose from in Devon depending on what you like. Here's an assortment of nice quiet sites that we like, check out the reviews.

Ross Park, near Newton Abbot (ideal for Torbay)

Harford Bridge, near Tavistock (ideal for Dartmoor)

The Old Rectory, also near Tavistock (small, quiet site)

South Breazle Holidays, near Okehampton (small & quiet)

Bolberry House Farm, near Kingsbridge (near beaches, Salcombe etc)

Little Meadow, Ilfracombe (sea views, quiet outside of school hols)

Doone Valley, Malmsmead (basic very rural site, but stunning scenery)

North Morte Farm, Woolacombe (ideal for coastal path)

Don't discount Somerset either, there are some lovely ones on the Devon/Somerset border ideal for walking on Exmoor which include:

Exe Valley, nr Dulverton (Adults only, rural, pub opposite)

Lowtrow Cross, nr Bampton (Adults only, rural, )

Burrowhayes, nr Porlock (set in beautiful Honer valley, very pretty)

If you like cycling you might want to consider staying near the Tarka Trail so sites around Bideford, Braunton, Saunton, Woolacombe may suit, the Tarka trail gives miles of offroad safe cycling. Dartmoor also offers cycling but hilly!

I'd second N Morte Farm, especially if you don't need EHU. The views are brilliant, and the beaches as good as the best in Cornwall. My VW bus knows its own way there by now.
