I'm new to the site and am a returning camper. Now that kids have come along we are looking to get back into camping - Just bought ourselves a Kampa Croyde 6 ready for next year
We're hopping to get across to France next year but would really like a couple of practice runs early next year - what would be your advice on the best camp sites for us to visit with 2 young kids (6 & 2), in & around Northampton for a trail run.
Any advice you could give about camping with kids would be most appreciated.
Cheers
Paul

Hi 'PaulsB' and welcome. Camping with young kids is just great! Ours are older now but when they were younger it was good to give them the freedom of a campsite to run around and explore. Waterproofs, suntanlotion, plenty of socks, hats, wellies, crocs, pillows and teddies from home, their own torches - these are all things that we had to take on every trip.
BTW, unlike 'awksquawk' we don't keep them up late but we don't let them make noise in the morning either!
Try doing a search for 'camping with kids' on the forums and you'll get plenty advice.
Hi and welcome dont know what Billing Aquadrome is like now for camping may be worth popping down and having a look

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again

I envy you! Mine are early risers at home so when camping I let them stay up as late as possible just to get a modicum of a lie-in which is absolute bliss!
If you don't mind travelling upto Peterborough - you could try Ferry Meadows caravan club site - they take tents and I don't think you have to be a member either.
It is right next to Ferry Meadows nature reserve which the kids will love as it has a park, woodland walks and you have Nene Steam Valley railway within walking distance.
If the weather turns foul there is a activity centre for kids called Big Sky which offers indoor play centre. Google that to get details.

Agree with Blutone I would avoid Billing Aquadrome no reviews on UK Campsite (may have been blocked) but check out Trip Advisor.
If I’m not mistaken Ferry Meadows is a part of the Caravan Club. Some sites do take tents but might charge a premium for non members? Nice site though.
