Ok folks decided Scotland and Stirling area would be our first family holiday with the downsized camper.

Comanche Brisa along with the kids in there own tents.

Found great site with loads of great reviews.

Witches Craig.

However totally unsuitable for us due to no guarantee the kids would be pitched near us.

I can understand not wishing to take bookings for tents till near the date namely a few days before as weather could make ground unsuitable.

However the camper would be designated a pitch hard standing but teh field is a free for all people pitch where ever they like.

The youngest is 13 so no way.

So what sites are willing to allow tents and folding campers to pitch together?

Looking at scotland but not too high, im open to suggestions all over the uk as would be a great resource. For future camps and for that matter may even change mind for scotland if i cannot find a site that i like the sound of and meats our needs.

Culzean Castle? Tents, campervans and caravans all use the grass pitches there. Or Moffat? Tents go in behind the hard standings

Thanks for the input folks greatly apprecaited, first link bit far for kids as even less to do for them but could be for us.

Shell island only take tents and motorhomes it seams so no good that im afraid as the folder would be counted as a caravan and not accepted.

Culzean and moffat looking tempting.

If it's a folding caravan it wouldn't be allowed on Shell Island as they don't have a caravan licence - if it's a folding camper it' is allowed. I take my Pennine Pullman there all the time.

The beauty of FC's/TT's is you call them what you want when it suits. Re the original question, could you not just book a pitch plus pup tent?
