We've booked Pentewan Sands for a family get together/holiday. We're going with my Sister in Law, her husband, our 2 nephews and my Father in Law (they're staying in a static).

We also fancy going to Abergavenny (I've a CS we didn't get to this year in that area). We may also go to Devon but unsure if it will be north or south (I'm starting to look at suitable sites in Devon).

We've also booked to go back to Isle of Avalon for the Glastonbury Carnival which will be the 3rd year running - at least it breaks up the winter and long cold dark nights!

I just need to see if I get the time off at work I've put in for and then we'll take it from there . . . .

Interesting opening day of the CC booking servcie. I sat at the PC for an hour trying to get in to book. The little lady was in the next room with her laptop and booked the lot. "Are you in yet" she would shout. "No"! "OK I'll try and book such and such" A little later it was "It's booked are you in yet?" " No" ...."OK I'll book such and such"

Was she keeping me out of the site?

So next year sorted but we still have one holiday to sort out. All we need to do is to pick a week. That week we are holidaying in Bridlington. Being away so much in the year that we have taken to setting aside at least one week to do holiday things in our own town. Go off up on to the Wolds and spend a day walking the chalk valleys; Perhaps over to Millington Woods for a ramble; then there is the walk from home, along the sea front, up to Flamborough Light house and back. You can miss so much in your own back yard if you don't put the effort in and no need to pull the van and set it up. Probably use my own shower that week!

And what a lovely back yard you have to 'holiday in Phil! You have to be really strict i find, to holiday in your own back yard, as the usual everyday jobs get in the way when at home!

We're thinking of Scotland for May half term, being in the South it's a long drive. I cant decide between staying in one place, maybe Loch Lomand area and doing lots of day trips.

Or use a mixture of Travelodge style hotels (family of 4, B&B's rarely cheap) and campsites to tour around. Probably taking a couple of festival size tents. Possible route Loch Lomand, Fort William, Cairngorms, Edinburgh.

It is indeed a long drive but dont let it put you off (have driven from home down South often). Scotland is a beautiful country. Personally, although I like the Loch Lomomd area and enjoy a visit there, there are other areas I prefer. The Cairngorms I love and is my favourite. You could fill many holidays there. The North West coast is stunning. Glencoe, Arisaig, Wester Ross, Durness - all fabulous. Look at my blog, camping at home page, link above, for pics.

Trying to decide where to head next year. Have 6 weeks of mapping with university in a few places in Scotland but still need to think of actual holidays.
Have been considering Wales as it's been ages since I've been down. Or perhaps head north as the north of Scotland got the best of the weather last summer and it's beautiful when the weather is right.

I have booked two trips for next year, one for Easter weekend, and one for the week with the August Bank Holiday.

The rest can wait, as they are non-peak times.

However, I have booked all my leave from work though.
