enjoyed a week there this summer with 2 young children, nice clean site, stocked shop, sainsburys 5mins drive away for any other, two pubs 1 mile down the lane in cockwood both doing food one with very good fish but not cheap, good ale in both, on site 2 bars one in the new indoor pool development. free outdoor pool you have to pay for indoor but not too expensive. food at both bars not bad small indoor play area for small children, out side on site chip shop play area and walk to dawlish warren or take the bike and cycle there in 15 to 20 mins on the flat.
the site is set in a small valley and pitches are on terrace areas
thamks i show , are the pitches flat, i hate a uneven pitch with me having a large tent it does not pitch right. but it sounds like there is a lot to do in the area aswell thanks again shaun
hi...we (me, husband and two moody teenagers) went to cofton in oct half term. lovely site but would warn you if it rains the pitches get very muddy (ours was hard standing), which STINKS....saying that had a lovely time, the outdoor pool was closed but used the indoor which was fantastic. cute donkeys in the field. my kids, mainly my dare devil daughter, loved the adventure area in the woods with the assault course and zip wire. Would go again...just wish they would upgrade the hard standing pitches as it is only a bit of gravel...
We go to cofton 3 or 4 times a year always pitch in the front field near the play area the pitches drain well, cant comment on the hardstands stink but did you mention it to reception and what did they say as I know they were working down there when we were there
Been 3 times to Cofton, last time we visited we thought the site was lovely but the area seemed to have gone downhill, Dawlish was looking tired and in need of some tlc. Much prefer other parts of Devon to this part, however, the site is lovely and they have built a new indoor swimming pool complex ince our last visit. Every time weve visted its rained for the whole time and the tenters have packed up and gone early as it gets very muddy. Weve given up on UK breaks cos of the wet horrible weather.

Husband and I were there in Feb this year. Nice site, easy access for Torbay. Important to some- bus stop at entry to site. The bus goes to supermarket - 3 stops and on go Dawlish. The other way goes to Exeter via Starcross where you can also catch the train along the coast.
Would certainly visit in summer, though we are older so not during school holidays :-)
