The Gower road aren't really that good and it takes a while to travel them. So really you want to be staying ON the Gower itself to avoid spending your holiday sat in the car. Bank Farm and Three Cliffs have sea views from your tent door but are exposed if the wind gets up. Pitton Cross is a little inland so no sea views, but is flat and well drained. Nicholaston Farm slopes a lot, Hillend is flat and drains well, is near the beach but attracts younger groups over the weekend. Llanmadoc is flat, drains well and is near the beach, but the owners are mental. Carreglwyd is on the beach, drains quite well but slopes very slightly and would be exposed in high winds. For a family holiday, I would go for Bank Farm. Book early and request a flat pitch either at the back of the field or on the front row for uninterupted sea views. It has a covered pool and an arcade attached to the club house. Just make sure you're pegged down well if there are any storms coming in off the Channel.
