Hello everyone - we moved to Germany a couple of years ago and travel to UK now with our caravan. As a member of a German Camping Club I got a CCI which we use frequently in France, NL etc. Can it be used at Caravan Club sites or Camping and Caravaning Club sites?

Don't really fancy having to become an overseas member with a club in the UK for camping on the odd site in the UK.

Anyone in the know?

I don't think the CCI can be used to get a discount on CC sites although the Club is one of the organisations that issue the cards in the UK. Have you checked whether the German Caravan Club has any arrangement with the Caravan Club to allow you to be an associate member whilst you are in the UK?

CCI list 38 UK sites offering cardholders a discount of 5% or more in high season, and 44 offering 10% or more in low season, though it doesn't look (at a quick glance) as if any of these belong to the two main clubs.

If you intend spending three nights (within three consecutive months) at Camping and Caravanning Club sites, the cost of Temporary Membership should work out less than the non-member pitch fees.
