we are hoping to go to the caravan and camping show at nec in feb but due to work we are only able to go for the one night, this appears to be a real problem now days at campsites as we found last year we were constantly being told we had to book for 2 nights which we quite often couldnt do so haven't used our caravan as much as we would have liked or used to do.we are members of the caravan and camping club, have been for years but dont know why because we always end up booking through ukcampsite.does anyone know anywhere near nec we could stay for one night with hookup if poss on sat 23rd feb please ,we are desperate to get the van out again.thanks Lynne

The Caravan Club will be running a temporary campsite with over 400 pitches available per night during The Spring Caravan & Camping Show (19 to 24 February 2013) at Birmingham's NEC. Terms apply.
Pitches: All electric hook-up (max 6 amp) and are priced at £30 per night
I haven't stayed here but did visit it late last year as part of a training course for the Camping and Caravanning Club. It's a CS but it does have all facilities, is well kept and a short distance to the NEC. The pitches are fully serviced and the reindeer are fab!
not that it helps you , about getting the van out ,,but,,
we're also going to the show and have booked the travellodge at sheldon "toby carvery" at £20 for the room, it was'nt worth taking the van. its only a couple of miles away from nec

Try Somers Wood at Meriden. That will accept your unit for one night and that is in an ideal location for NEC. Stayed there years ago but they don't accept tents now, just caravans so hope this helps. The majority of sites accept one night stays away from peak times. I have only seen a handful that ask for a minimum of two night stays. They do ask for payment upfront if it is for a one night stay and I think this is fair enough as people often don't turn up.
