Hi, we are travelling to Northumberland in August from Norfolk, so quite a long journey and with a 4 year old with a mild disability, so we are looking to break up the journey with an overnight stay on route.
We will be on the A1 so would prefer not to stray too far away but we also need a campsite which will take a folding camper for just 1 night. Most I have looked at want 2 nights as its peak holiday season.
Any suggestions would be very welcome.
Thanks,
Neil

Allerton Park - about 1 mile off J47 A1. J47 is the Harrogate - York road junction. Friend stayed there two years ago when she was doing the run from Essex to Alnwick.

Not far from Boroughbridge c&cc site is Spen house at Minskip, its about 5 mins off the oroughbridge junction but far enough away not to get road noise should tick all your boxes. I lived in BB most of my life so know the area inside out and this would be a perfect stopover, also has a play park and field for kids to play if required. plenty of takeaways within a mile and local pubs and restaurants for food if needed.
