I don't know how far south you are willing to go, but Ayr Holiday Park in St. Ives, Corwall, has fab facilities (apparently). And you can walk nto St. Ives from the site. Never been but it sounds good and gets great reviews. Maybe a bit on the pricey side!
You may get a better response if you have a specific area in mind...
