Has anyone booked a camping weekend for Easter? I so want to test out our new vango tigris 600 xl but am a bit scared of booking anywhere, not knowing if the weather will be horrendous, or if we would be the only family camping under canvas so early in the year. And some sites want full payment up front which is putting me off. I don't mind losing £20 but that's it. My camping kit is building up nicely and I'm so excited x

I am away 3 times over the school Easter holidays so it's not too early in the season as far as I'm concerned!
With regards to the weather, Easter is often one of the best times of year to get away.
If you wait for a good weather forecast, you will never go camping!
The thing is to be prepared with plenty of layers of clothing, good quality sleeping bags, insulate your beds to keep cosy, pack waterproofs and wellies and get out there and have fun!!
I am having the same dilemma Forbes70. The temptation to book is killing me, but I am thinking it might be better to just wait it out and see what the weather is like. Obviously the downside is, I won't actually get in a site anywhere!?

Hi forbes70,
We've booked 5 nights from Easter monday at the Black Bull, Pickering - we are not new to camping but have bought a new Vango Tigris 800XL tent eek....dead excited can't wait
We have never paid in full before going camping, just a deposit at the time of booking...
We camped in North Wales last Easter for a week, the weather was appauling on the first day (Easter monday) but the rest of the week was glorious

They said they may put me on an all-weather pitch if the grass pitches are too soggy.
I cancelled my trip over the New Year as it was too wet and soggy to be fun. Therefore I am really looking forward to my first trip this year over Easter, as it has been too long since my last trip in Oct 2012!

Thanks guys. I've booked Fforest Fields for August. The video they have done sold it to me. I've also been looking at Black Bull and Great Langdale so am quite pleased they are mentioned in your posts. We were looking at Pillaton Hall for Easter as its only an hour and half from home. As an earlier post said, if we wait for the weather we will wait forever!
