I intend to go camping with my friend in August we would like to stop on a site with nice facilities maybe a pool, trouble I am having is that some wont take single sex groups ? any recommendation would be good as a bit of a newbie

have you actually phoned them? I wouldn't consider 2 people to be a group to be honest.

We have to agree with brickiemum that 2 people doesnt constitute a group but it would be worthwhile phoning them just to clarify what they mean. You could always state to them that you're not a couple just two friends who enjoy camping.

we are two friends just going camping,I did wonder if the wording was correct, I will give them a ring and ask.  I am new to the camping but itching to get my tent out in next couple of months.  thanks for advice

without seeing the wording it sounds more like they are not allowing stag / hen group kind of parties with the associated activities that tend to come with groups like that!.

but as other say, the wording needs to be checked.

I too am thinking the restriction is for same sex groups of more than 2 people, to prevent hen and stag parties from disturbing other campers.

However, I could be wrong.

I came across same sex couples at camp sites all the time.

Camping in the same tent? If your in separate tents, make 2 bookings!
