well weve finally done it, mainly in part to the bad weather last year weve joined the tin box brigade only problem now is my challenge, its suz b'day sat 6th april and she wants to take our van for first trip somewhere in wales, not a huge site, small, secluded pitches, maybe pub and bit of something within walking distance for a few nights, anyone any good ideas so i can sleep in our new van not the doghouse?

Anglesey is lovely, plenty of sites to choose from. We like Valley of the Rocks but I don't think the facilities are great, doesn't bother us as we use our own shower and loo. Pub next door, great beach a short walk away, near Holyhead for shops if you cook in the van.

You could try Conwy caravan park they have a bar on site just in case the weather is bad also near conwy itself and llandudno not far, its not a small site but the pitches are grouped together so it feels secluded, ,
We too bought a caravan in 2009 after years of camping and having horrendous weather, its the best thing we ever did
Plassey is nice and as its a treat you could stay on one of their deluxe pitches which are set away from the rest of the site and are fully serviced - all weather pitches too which are a big plus at this time of year. It has a bar and restaurants on site as well as a craft complex and a lovely walk set within its own grounds. Facilities are excellent and plentiful but a non commercial feel.
The Willows in Abersoch another lovely site, within walking distance of a pub and shop and a coast path walk into Abersoch itself and you can hire bikes for rides around the area. We are going here without the kids in June for our wedding anniversary and it looks perfect.
