I have looks at gwithian farm as some have spoken highly of it.
Would be perfect if an hour nearer, i always find the last drag into Cornwall that bit much.
Suzac the north morte site , does it have grass hook up pitches can't see on the website, but its pretty good and woolacomb would be perfect.
Cheers
John

No sorry if you are tenting they don't have EHU. The van touring field which is quite small - approx 40 pitches does.

Hi
Thanks so much for input , funnily I had looked at little meadow before posting it was just the lack of sandy beach put me off.
I don't know but ifracoomb looks a bit dead compared to woolacomb/ bude etc.
I think it's down to tying to get to south Cornwall as they have the site
Set up I want.
Cheers
John

Hi all I am back again, had settled on Treago Farm rang them for availability and whilst not ful I got the distinct impression it was rammed, and he was talking in terms of squeezing us on. I have this vision of being in a large meadow to ourselves rolling down to a nice sandy cove, doesnt exist apparently. Chealsea girl i notice you reviewed budemeadows near widemouth bay, some reviews say the owner is a bit of a jobsworth runs it like boot camp, did you find this. and how far to widemouth bay cold you walk it? cheers john

Hi John, Shame about Treago. We didn't have any problems with Widemouth Fields at all, mind you bear in mind it was the end of the season and there were only about 6 units total on site. It's a large site so in peak season you will not get the open feeling you seek, I wouldn't hesitate to go back but we don't holiday in the school hols. You could walk it but you have to cross the busy A30 and there are no paths on the road to the beach so would not advise with children. Did you try Tollgate Farm at Perranporth?

I don't know how adventurous you are or if you have a tent or caravan but have a look at Treen Farm campsite aswell. Seems a very laid back, basic, family site. The only issue is you cannot pre-book, have a look at the reviews and also take a look at the closest beach on google earth (pictures) the beach is absolutely stunning, dog friendly but is a bit of a task to get down to!

Hi Chelsea girl tollgate is booked up for our dates, i must say had no idea it was so difficult to get on sites being a newbie i had visions of having a choice of sites. i thought getting a cottage for two weeks was bad enough, but having paid 2400 for a fortnight last year thought i would try camping partly for an adventure for the kids, partly to save a fortune. wont work if cant get a campsite though.
