I spend every other weekend away in my caravan in the peak district or lake district but fancy spreading my wings a bit now for my annual holidays. Thinking off going on a two week jaunt but can not decide what to do, should I just do a trip down to Cornwall / Devon or should I break it up and do a bit of a road trip and stop off on the way there and on the way back, I live in the Cheshire area and just wondered what you guys think, is it to far to drive in one hit and anyone got some good recommendations of there own jaunts have started looking at sites but there are so many on here its just mind blowing

thats funny. i live in devon and we are off up to the lakes this year. hoping to do it in one trip but if not its a night on the side of the road.. i know what you mean about the amount of site's and which is best. but if you do head down this end we usualy stay at carloyn bay camping and caravan park. its a lovely site.
Be nice to break the journey up I think, especially if you're going to head into Cornwall. Whatever you decide I recommending avoiding travelling down on a Friday afternoon or at all on a Saturday - the M5 from Bristol down to the A30 is like a car park on a Saturday in school hols. Best to get your one night stop after Bristol if you can. Some people travel down by night if that's an option for you?

There are some lovely areas in Pembrokeshire or Cardigan, very similar to Cornwall but with less people.
