I think the nearest is Riverside right on J45 M4 but before you book read the reviews on the 'campsite search' because it's not everybodies cup of tea. We use it regularly but not in the school hol period. If the swimming is at the leisure centre, it's about 3 miles away but a new dual carriageway takes you round the centre straight down to the Oystermouth road by the leisure centre. Bit of traffic at the river Tawe bridge where you join the Cardiff/Oystermouth road. Have a browse on the campsite search facility, you can click on the map and it will show all the sites in the vicinity........Mick
I would NOT recommend Riverside to anyone. There is a cc club site at Gowerton... about 20 mins to the Wales National Pool .If the gala is at the National pool ( by the University) they have their own car park......there is some road parking nearby but not a lot. There are a number of sites on the Gower peninsular....any of which are MUCH BETTER than Riverside.Three Cliffshas stunning views.

As others have said, avoid Riverside, it's a sh*thole.
Loads of other options in the area. Nearest sites on the Gower are Three Cliffs of Nicholstons Farm. The CC site at Gowerton is probably the quickest drive away from the National Pool.
Gateway Holiday Park in Llanelli would also be a good outside bet.
There is Llwynifan Farm in Scarletsfan's home village of Llangenneth, which isn't very far and very easy to get to from the M4. We liked it there, not been to any other sites in the area yet.
Thank you v much for all your input. I had three cliffs or nicholstons in mind but will look at gowerton and others you mention as ideally want to be as close as possible but as it's part swimming comps part holiday I would prefer to travel a bit further if it means nicer site.cheers john
