I do not like Brean at all but that's my choice. If it's beach parking you want Studland parking (knoll beach and shell bay) car parks are on the beach although you cannot drive along the beach. Only in the car park area. I believe that on knoll beach there are wooden paths across the beach.
A far nicer beach than Brean in my view but only the National trust shop & catering and toilets. No promenade etc fortunately.

I don't like Brean, chav's everywhere, but love dawlish. It's much nicer
