The whole of South Devon is your oyster really - so much to see and do depending on what you like and how long you are here. Just some ideas, but too many to list.
You've got the traditional seaside piers at Teignmouth & Paignton. As mentioned Crealy Adventure Park at Exeter. Kents Cavern & the Model Village near Torquay. Check out if there are any events at Powderham Castle (they sometimes hold jousting, medieval weekends etc). If you like gardens/traditional England then Cockington Country Park down near Torquay might suit - it's a Doomsday Book village, very pretty. Castle Drogo high up in the lovely Teign Valley is further inland if you want to head that way.
A drive away if you have children/adventurous children you have a "Go Ape" in Haldon Forest, along with Segway tours through the forest which is good fun on a nice day.
Further afield you have Brixham and across the ferry from Kingswear to Dartmouth - we often drive down the coast road to Dartmouth for a day out.
The Ship Inn at Cockwood (between Starcross & Dawlish) is a quaint little pub right by the harbour wall, ideal for a pint on a sunny day. Smugglers Inn on the Teignmouth road is also a lovely place to sit out and enjoy the coastal view if you're passing.
