As the subject says, we're off to Sandyballs in the New Forest tomorrow for a few nights, got a great deal (£30 for 3 nights.) It's our first experience of pitching on all weather surface. Got my rock pegs & and extra groundsheet for under the tent so should be ok. Weather is set to rain for the whole time though..

You've got a bargain - when I looked to book it was £170 for 3 nights
Indeed we did. As we are going during the week, it appears to be a lot cheaper. We also got 3 nights for the price of 2 which made it that little bit more appealing I'll definately report back with photo's!

Sandy Balls have massively increased their prices this year, but we have had lots of literature throught his year with offers so clearly no-one is booking at the full rate.

Any offers for the end of the month? That's when we want to go but don't want to pay £170!

Actually, that's exactly what it is named after - large (size of a house) lumps of sand in vague ball shapes in the area. I'm not sure if they were natural or man-made - natural, I think.
£30 for 3 nights is an amazing deal, although obviously because mid-week and not in school holidays - we paid £45 a night in half-term week last year .
It is a fun site, with lots of evening activities that the kids really enjoyed. However, pool is annoying - too small for size of the site so they have to do a reservation system. Who wants to book a swim in a pool?

Actually much of the New Forest is very sandy soil. What you don't get a lot of in the Forest is trees. A great deal of it is without tree.
Anyone taking dogs to this area should be aware of this
