Might help if you could be more specific about your Aunt's location?
Devon and Dorset covers a large area - your journey might be 200 miles or 350+.

Just realised that this might be better in the UK Sites section! (Perhaps the Mods will move it, if not try reposting there).
Cheapest option would probably be a Camping and Caravanning Club Certificated Site - possibly in the Weymouth - Purbeck area? - if you're already a member, or prepared to sign up on arrival, and remember some CS's are "own sanitation essential"
There are also quite a few good, reasonably priced commercial sites in that area - have a look at Norden Farm, Woodyhyde, Tom's Field amongst others.

I don't actually think you could get further away from Torquay whilst still being in Devon/Dorset that Purbeck. This would be a 2 hour journey down to Auntie's place.
Assuming you may visit Aunt's more than once, proximity and fuel cost should be a bigger factor than campsite cost.

I would avoid Dorset completely if you want Torquay - also in the school hols the traffic will be manic. Your best bet would be to choose somewhere around the Dawlish Warren, Dawlish, Teignmouth, Paignton area - easy drive to Torquay and not miles away.
