hi is there still any campsites around where you can choose to put your tent your self?
me 25 my wife 28 and 2 kids (age 5 and 2) have been camping 3 times in 3 diffrent places and in them 3 times we always get put next to ermmm... lets says "crazy" familys
1st 2 old people did nothing but argue all day and night! till like 3 in the morning.
2nd 4 kids running in and out of our ropes and round and round our tent and mom and dad just sat outside drinking allday and night thay was nice but didnt keep control of there kids.
3rd dog yelping all night and all day and the owners SHOUTING! "shut u jack" "go away jack" "get out jack" ect ect
all we would like is to put the tent u where we would like it is that to much to ask?
so anyone no where we can go camping and pick where we put the tent? thank you. wow what a moody old man i sound like lol

There are plenty of laid back campsites around the uk that will still allow you to pitch where you want - however there is no stopping who pitches next to you once you have set up. You can always count on someone pitching right next to you, even if you are alone in the corner of a 4 acre empty field!
"Campers may not pitch within 20 meters of another tent in the same field, unless prior agreement is reached with adjoining campers." (from their website)

Many sites will offer a choice of available pitches - why not ring up beforehand and ask if this is an option. The trouble is, you won't really know what your neighbours are like until it's too late to move. Such is life!
