Hi there,
Me and a few friends go away every year and this year have decided we would like to spend a weekend under canvas. There are about 20 of us and even though we are all post 30 and getting on a bit we still enjoy a few drinks and probably a bit too much noise for most campsites with families in the summer holidays. I was wondering if anyone knew of any sites within 2/3 hours on Newcastle Upon Tyne which catered for groups like us? Not bothered about facilities being great, just somewhere with some space so we don't annoy anyone! We would of course leave the place immaculate when we left.
Would really appreciate any advice.

Many Thanks

Hi Mr Truck - it might be worth looking for sites that have a rally field - rather booking yourselves in as a stag weekend you could book as a rally.  I am not sure that the rules are the same and that they don't allow single sex rallies - it would be worth having a look and making some enquires.  I know some of the rallies that I have been on have been mixed but the men have been the ones up drinking all night til the early hours.

Use the campsite search button at the top of the page and I think you can narrow it down to your individual requirements.

I hope this helps a little.

Louise

Hi.

Sorry I can't remember the name of it but there is one in Barnard Castle that said they would take groups and the rules were relaxed (something like quiet after 1am).

This was a couple of years ago though so things may have changed.

I'll update if I can find which site it was.

Might be this one
Try Gallows Hill Stables near Barnard Castle, just off the A66. John the owner is great. He lives in the farmhouse and has a huge field for tents. great views over Teesdale and loads of space. Our family group were singing until midnight, but we were practically on our own. he has fire pits and logs too.

Hi.

That's the one. We've not managed to go there yet but might have to add it to my to do list.

There is one near Kirby Stephen that might be suitable, cannot remember the name right now. It is mainly aimed at the biker camping and has a room to use if it is raining to socialise and may be up to accepting a group booking like yours if it will be taking up most of their site.

Squires cafe near Leeds mainly for bikers but accept groups i think. We were a roudy group last year as were our fellow campers, no trouble at all plus great food. They have a web site.
