I'm planning to watch day one of 2014 Tour de France, and am seeking recommendations for a site within 20 miles of the stretch between Hawes and Reeth

Any suggestions?

I emailed woodhouse farm near ripon this week and they have availability for that weekend, nice site they have a bar/restaurant on site which sells black sheep beers! We stayed there a few years back in a tent and really enjoyed it.
I know other places are getting booked up quite quickly so it might pay to get booked up now.

Just looked at the Holme moss site. £125 per night!! There's a minimum of a 2 night stay. Gob smacked totally gob smacked.

Andy, I thought your price must be a misprint. Sorry I doubted you.

Anybody who goes on that field at that price must have more money than sense. You could get a hotel for less than that.

That's the impression I got! Says something about being a working farm 51 weeks of the year! Thought 10% surcharge at a site in Bourg d'Oisans this year was excessive (used a different site). Yorkshire can forget it if everywhere is going to be so greedy!
