I've been a long term lurker on this site and have turned to your advice on many an occasion, so thank you! My bloke and I are quite experienced campers (we've camped around the UK and France in our trusty vango)but haven't managed to get out in it this year. It's our 10 year anniversary (gulp!) in August so thought we'd plan a trip.
We're looking for a smallish, chilled campsite within 3 hours of london (working on the Friday so don't want to go too far), preferably easy walking distance to a village pub, maybe with walks from the campsite? Originally looked at the New forest but all the campsites I can find seem to be huge (with entertainment areas included) or tiny (meaning poor facilities). We didn't want to be in a crowded campsite, looking for some peace and quiet after london, but am I asking for too much?
thanks in advance for all your help,
lx
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Are you members of the Camping and Caravan Club...? The reason I ask is that some of their certificated sites (CS) are generally quite. Read this thread for more information here
A site I quite like is Loves lane Camping in Hertfordshire. It has a fairly easy walk across fields and country roads to the village of Ashwell which has 3 pubs... Again it's a CS site so will need C&CC membership.
