We are going to Hoddom for 7 nights in August and have been told we are on pitch 145 (Tent pitch with EHU). Looking at the website map, we seem to be in the top camping field and about as far away from the main facilities as you can get, is this correct or am I looking at an old map, as I was told tent pitches were nearest to the facilities.
Just went back on their website and opened the map again and we now seem to be opposite the Castle at the back of a tent field. Confused much

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Yes pitch 145 is at the back of the tent field in front of the castle so not far from the facilities. I will be on pitch 69 on 16 till 18th August with Ladies Fishing Club - we will be fishing for sea trout salmon and trout over the weekend so if you are there don't be surprised if you see us practicing spey casting on the grass!
Lovely site with very clean facilities. Sorry I don't know about dogs in the bar but there is a canopy and tables outside the bar so you would be ok there I would think
As Ali has said above, you will be in front of the castle and very close to the facilities. We have just returned from this site and were thoroughly impressed with it. It is a lovely clean site with a friendly feel to it. Never saw any dogs in the bar itself but saw people sitting in the covered area outside enjoying a drink who had dogs with them.

I have known bars to serve meals and still allow dogs, the site we were on last year did and so did the bar around the corner. As I understand it dogs are not supposed to be in areas where food is prepared, I think it`s up to individual bar owners etc if they allow them in where meals are eaten.
The covered area sounds fine though and as you say Bernie, we DO have Oaky`s bar
