Sorry I didnt see your post, well we have a little portable loo which splits in half and has a flush. Horrible smelling cleaner stuff though (very chemically floral if you know what I mean), so we didnt use it the first time as there were no solids to deal with, but I will have to use it from now on.
The washing facilities are twofold. I have a bbq stand and this also has a lower shelf, and on this I put a big enamel wash bowl and then my wash bag and towels go on the lower shelf. Its set up all the time like that, during the day there is cold water in it for when you need to quickly wash your hands. But in the morning its my OHs duty to heat some water up and we put a bit of hot and a bit of cold and this is sufficient to have a nice wash. I even was able to wash my hair which I must do everyday.
Then we have a portable shower, quecha, its really good, I didnt expect it to work but it did really well. It holds 8 litres and we found that a shower used about 3-4ish. We fill it mostly with cold water and then a little bit of hot, it was too hot so we will practice with the quantities. You pump it up with the handle and press the trigger on the shower attachment and out comes your shower.
We have a shower tent, quecha again. We stand on a collapsible washing up bowl, square to catch the dirty water and then we put this in a bucket to empty away later.
Im afraid I was subject to much ridicule and questioning over this on one of my threads but I dont like using communal showers or shower blocks, it makes me feel ill and this is a perfect solution. We wont be going to large sites so have the privacy to do this. I used the wash bowl and OH used the shower on our first and only trip so far, but I plan to use the shower too if he lets me!
