I am booked to go stay at Cote Gyhll campsite in Osmotherley in a week's time for 2 nights. Someone at work has told me that the site will be full of midges at this time of year. I absolutely hate midges and if this is the case it will ruin my stay!!
Has anybody been at this time of year and can tell me if it will be bad or not?!!
Thank you x

It can get bad there partiularly in the evenings, we probably have the ideal weather too sunshine and showers and are plumb bang in the middle of midge season. get some decent reppellant and a hat and net to be on the safe side.
Get some Smidge that Midge, it's brilliant. We walked through clouds of midges in Scotland and they never touched us. There's something from Avon that is supposed to be good too but I've never tried that but I can recommend Smidge. It's easily obtainable off the net

I am not shure if it works for midges but we used our plug in thingy for mossies whilst we were in the van and it seemed to keep them away. The Ausies recon vegimite stops you getting bitten. They have proper biting nasty things out there and not all of them fly.
