Hi all
We are hoping to stay in the Lake District with our caravan next summer & looking for a site with a good view of the lake & walkable to a pub.....any recommendations please?

C&CC site at Keswick. On the banks of Derwent Water, good views and short walk into town with lots of pubs, a longer walk, (well a couple of minutes) to the top of the market place and the Dog and Gun.
Shops in walking distance as well.

Yep that's not a bad site and the town is lovely. Braithwaite Fold is a lovely c&cc site at Bowness on Windermere, not really a view of the lake though due to the high tree's but a short walk across the car park and you're right on the lake. A 10 minute walk gets you into Bowness town centre. The site is very clean and tidy aswell you'll love it.

we go to CastleRigg Hall Caravan Park we have pitch 10 with a complete view of Derwentwater,it is a great site with good shop eating place on site plus pub only 2 mins walk.Have a look at their website.we are of there the end of Sept for aweek.plenty of walks from the site.

I was going to say the CCC Keswick site too. Personally I don't like the site, although the situation is wonderful, but there's another one next door, but I'm not sure if you can see the lake from there. The town is lovely, loads of pubs, and, if you like a walk, there's a village called Threkeld about 4 miles away with a pub where we had the best meal I've had out in years.

Park foot campsite on lake ullswater.
within walking distance of 3 pubs and a lovely site, lots to do / see in the area
