I once found somewhere ideal on here, but then forgot the name and the area :/ ooops.
So I'm fed up of looking and thought you may be able to help me.
We would like a camp site in the Lake District, with nice showers and a pub within walking distance.
I know I could do a search but for some reason I cannot come across the one I once found :)

I have heard good things about Eskdale too, and am planning to go there next year on my way down from Glencoe, Scotland.

It's a C&CC club site though, therefore, it may not suit everyone.

Agree with Eskdale. Lovely site, nice showers and a couple of good pubs well within walking distance. Western lakes much quieter than the more popular areas around Keswick, Ambleside etc. The site doesn't take caravans (due to the narrow roads leading to it) and as you don't say what your outfit is it may not be suitable. Couple of photos attached to see if it helps jog any memories. In order they are Eskdale site, Boot to Ravenglass railway and Wastwater which is the next valley over from Eskdale.

Another vote for Eskdale, it's such an all round fab site. Very scenic, well maintained and really top class facilities. 2 pubs 5 min walk into Boot and another a bit further away towards the Hard Knott pass. Slightly expensive if you are not a C&CC member, but worth it. Prob my fave lake district site.

Alternatively The Quiet site at Ullswater is nice - good bathroom facilities and has an old barn converted into a quirky on-site bar. Pitches all pea gravel, which may not suit everyone.

Langdale NT site is a winner if you like more "out of the way" places. Has fab views of the langdale fells, feels quite remote but has 3 great pubs within 5 mins walk.

Have to agree 100%

We stayed here a couple of years ago, on a short break.

Even managed to climb Scafell Pike, although the route from this site is a fair bit longer than the more common route from Seathwaite. However, the vista of Great Moss is worth seeing

Was going to suggest this one myself but Katieep beat me to it. Great site but a little out the way but that's why I like it so much. Oh and not forgetting it has two fantastical pubs a few minutes walk from the entrance of the site. Not sure what you are camping in but if memory serves right, it does not allow caravans.
