Depends how far you want to travel but Golden Sunset on Anglesey has no designated pitches so basically you just turn up, pitch where you want and pay per person. It's extremely busy at this time of year though.

I've not heard of a site saying that the number of pitches is determined by the number of family members. Not saying it doesn't happen, just that I've never heard of it.
I have heard that some sites charge the very largest tents at two pitches.
Are you all in the caravan, or is it caravan plus assorted tents?

My advice is worth no more than the price paid for it
Hi I've just booked Hurley Riverside - we're a family of 4 but we booked a pitch for our friends as well and they have 5 children. They only asked how big the tent was (6m width) - not been before but will review in 2 weeks after our stay.
Never heard of this rule for a family (parents plus children) in 20 years of camping, we have five children so there are seven of us too.
It has to be a very pernickety site to insist on two pitches, I would go elsewhere. Surely plenty of sites that won't have any rule like this.
The only reason I can think of for them to have this rule is to avoid large groups on one pitch and possible disruption with noise. (And I am talking lots of adults rather than a family consisting of adults and kids)
Hope you find a campsite to suit what you want.
Jane.

If you are all in one caravan I cannt see a problem, as someone else said its normally to stop say 2 or 3 tents on one pitch (which would then be far to close to each other). Find sites you like and then phone them instead of emailing I am sure most would accommodate you ok.
I know the CC&C club site is on size, but unsure about how many children go under the one roof ,as it charges 'per adult 'anyway, they have family prices in one block rice, but again not sure how many children allowed it the one price.
