A few years since I've been to Mablethorpe, and I don't think I'd go back. At that time, it was becoming distinctly shabby and well past its 'sell by' date.
By comparison, Skeggy looked 'up market'. Maybe things have changed in recent years, but definitely not my 'cup of tea'.
------------- Two drifters off to see the world.
I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.
golden sands has changed a lot in the last few years, all tourers and tents are now right at the back of the site and not at the front ,like they used to be.
had a drive around last year, looks decent pitchin areas though.what used to be the two different sites( main site and extention site), with the "hollivans" site inbetween, are now joined up at the back, through the tourer/tent fields.

we was at golden sands about 3 years ago in a friends static we took a walk up to the touring site for future reference and it looked pretty good tbh
the shower block was quite modern and very clean(it was may and out of season) the pitches were all flat
the site itself seemed erm well its a haven the touring site is a decent walk(not too far) from the entertainment complex so you could stay well away from the complex if you like
mablethorp beach is spotless lovely clean sand and plenty of it
the town erm i suppose its seen better days but ive seen a heck of a lot worse and i live 30 mins drive from blackpool that has millions of visitors a year (i dont understand why anyone would travel to blackpool to be honest)
there are plenty of places to visit within 30 mins drive for both yourselves and the kids
we only use sites as a base for days out we tend not to spend much time on any site
may let the kids go to the club for entertainment a few nights while were away but other than that its just a field to park our heads in while exploring our great country :p
easyt .. thanks . We are like you only a place to lay our head as we out most days. Different when witht he kids soa s i mentioned will go across and have a look ,
