hi folks,

im heading down just now to visit friends in bradford and want to camp in my van and put up my awning.

can anyone recommend a campsite near bradford or between ne manchester and bradford that has ehu?

Can't find any campsites that near the City centre. nearest is either Oldham or Glossop I think.

If you search for Halifax or Huddersfield or surrounding area that's reasonably in between Manchester and Bradford.

Not sure about EHU but there's Hollingworth Lake in Oldham - near Manchester, good for motorway to Bradford.

Dobrudden, Baildon Moor, short drive into Bradford, also a couple at Silsden which is 20 minutes away. Not stayed at any as they are too local to me.

Just seen some listed under Shipley, which is outskirts of Bradford.

I've just had a look in my virtual brochure as I thought I had a few in the right area bookmarked for quick weekends away, but I don't have as many as I thought.

Would this one fit the bill for location?

If you look at Dobrudden, it might be worth giving them a call to check their EHU as I'm sure they told me they only had a very low ampage (or whatever the relevant electrical thing is!)

I also have this one near Huddersfield, and this one near Halifax, both reasonably close to Manchester and Bradford.

I don't think he means Bradford in West Yorkshire!
Presume the OP means Bradford in Manchester near the Etihad stadium.
Nearest sites are as suggested around the Oldham and Rochdale areas or I think there might be a couple in Bury.
I would recommend Hollingworth Lake. Easy motorway access to Manchester and a couple of decent pubs nearby in scenic surroundings,

Hi you could try Ellandhallfarm.co.uk it's at Exley on the edge of Halifax. Nice small cheap site but about as close as you will get Bradford!

Well, I've lived all my life in Oldham (very near Manchester) and I never knew there was a Bradford in Manchester! You learn something new every day.

Bradford Gas Works (Manchester) was a major landmark. The gasholders are still there, but the area is now referred to as Eastlands. Wastelands more like. The OP is advised to follow the advice re. Hollingworth Lake, though the Caravan Club site at Bury is not that far and from all accounts a nice place to stay if you are a member.

I knew the name of the area, hence my reply above. However having just googled it, I didn't know that there was a colliery there. But then, I'm not originally from the Manchester area.
