Has anyone been to this site this year. Looking at maybe going next year but reviews are 2012.
Really want to know where touring is in relation to facilities, e.g. bar pool etc. Just how hilly is the site for say getting to the beach.
We are two adults in our sixties but fairly fit and have a dog. Don't go till September so that is why we pick this kind of site as we are sure of places being open.

The site is hilly but if you're reasonably fit you will be ok. The path down to the beach is a slope, but it's tarmaced and not steps and from what I remember it's zig zagged and not one big steep slope so you can take your time.
I'm not sure about the touring facilities though, big Haven sites usually tend to think of their static customers first so I would research reviews.
It's some time since we stopped there. Back then, customer service for tourers was non existant. The touring area was abysmal and accessed up a very steep slope.

The beach car park is on the top of the cliff (hence devon cliffs?) and I would say the walk down to the beach is pretty steep.
It is a long time since I went so any pitch info is probably irrelevant but their own website describes the beach access as down a "short but fairly steep slope".
Google Earth will give you a good idea of the layout. The touring area appears to have moved so my comments relating to ghost steep slope may no longer be relevant.
The touring area now appears to be cited immediately behind the large entertainment complex. I would expect quite a bit of noise as a result. The area also appears to be a rather long walk to the path down to the beach.
i've just seen a post on the forum from the management at Devon Cliffs entitled 'bring your caravan to Devon Cliffs' - it might be worth dropping them a line or giving them a call to get the low down on the site as it is now

If it was me I wouldn't be returning. Went once and stayed in a static. This was about 3 years ago. Had a look at touring area and it was very tightly packed. It may have changed since. Very busy and noisey site.
I love devon cliffs. I used to work there many years ago and have visited many times staying in a static. Considering taking my tourer next year.
The site is large with great facilities. It's their flagship park so it does have everything. The beach is excellent but it's a fair climb back to the top.
