I love the atmosphere around Bovey Tracey or Cockington near to Christmas. Anyone know a good site to visit in the hols before Christmas. Need to be back for Christmas Eve as that is my little one's birthday. Caravan with three kids (10, 7, 4 to be 5 soon).
------------- 2014
Easter Hols - Burnham-on-sea (7 nts)
Early May bank hol - Hopley's Bewdley (3nts).
Whitsun - Goodrington (14 nts).
August - Goodrington (16 nts).
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
I think lemonford in bickington is now open all year but I've never been there I used to go to the Dartmoor halfway inn in bickington which is a good food pub with a 22 pitch site attached both are near to the turn off for bovey tracey
Was on Ross Park this weekend and tried to book for December but was told no. I don't know why, perhaps they are full or perhaps they have work on. Who knows, we loved the site but trying to book on there has been such a pain it's unlikely we'll return. I did notice as I left today the sign said campsite full. I would say 90% of pitches were empty.

Dornafield is closed for the winter this year.

We were at Ross Park all week ( left Saturday) the sign has Ben up all week, when we originally booked the lady who took the booking had to phone me back to confirm the pitch but the site has been pretty empty all week so I assume they don't like to many in at this time of the year!
Try twelve oaks farm in Teigngrace, that's roughly 4 miles from Bovey Tracey. I don't know what type of site you are after, but if you want a peaceful weekend with a nice cosy shower block then this would suit you. I've been loads of times. Stopped going in the summer because it was a bit pricey. The winter was a lot cheaper though. I've tried Dartmoor Halfway Inn too, again a nice little site with lovely pub grub & some play equipment in the pub garden. I'll keep an eye on your post as I'm always on the hunt for places to stay in winter. Just hope I can get another caravan soon.
Hi. Cofton Country are open all year. Situated between Starcross and Dawlish. New indoor pool and spa. Great central location for Bovey and Exeter.
There are many local Christmas markets throughout December. My little one loves the Santa Train at Trago Mills just outside Bovey Tracey (Trago can be an aquired taste but lots of activities for children).
I hope you have a great time down here wherever you chose to stay.
