You possibly need to look for sites that don't use marked pitches. One I can think of is Woodyhyde between Corfe Castle and Swanage in Dorset.
Another one is Norden Farm at Corfe Castle

Or look for campsites with a rally field we have an outwell Vermont xlp at 8x5.1 and never had any problems
If you just tell the campsite owners your unit size most of them will have pitches to suit
------------- April Peak District Beech Croft Farm
May Peak District Duke of York
May Holland Delfse Hout
June Cotton Arms Nantwich
july/aug Cornwall Pentewan Sands
And quite a few local weekenders

Theres a sticky thread at the top caravan and camp site page called "Sites Accepting Large Tents"
------------- Experience enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.
Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again

Hi slapheadgeoff,
As the OP has such a large tent it is probable they have children and Exe Valley is adult only. Not only that but if you have a tent they make you move it every 7 days (so as not to spoil the grass).
