Thinking about siting the caravan on a permanent pitch. This year and for the foreseeable future.
So, I seek you thoughts, and suggestions....
I am based in Manchester. So I guess, I dont want to do more than 2 hours travelling. Which gives the me the Lakes, Peaks District, Yorkshire Moors and Dales and Wales and surrounding areas.
I like you hear you recommendations and kind of price range. Thoughts and experiences. I thinking of starting looking in next couple of weeks for I guess starting in MarCH when the campsites open.
So if you a permie, I like to hear your recommendations on where I should consider and maybe some of the pitfalls which I may have not considered?
Thanks in advance
Dave and Sylvia

There's a huge variation on sites. We're on a nice quiet site with only a small play area, pond for fishing and a tennis court and a pub about 1 mile away. We pay roughly £1400 per year (including winter storage on your permanent pitch), awning stays up all season but no firepits. The toilets are immaculate and the site is kept in very good order by the owners. It has been extended for this season with extra pitches being available so could be worth a look. Shopping is easy with Catterick Garrison being only 2-3 mile away where you find Aldi, Tesco, and a little further Lidl's. We've had three seasons and looking forward to many more. Find reviews on here.
We have a static on small site at Sedbergh inbetween Lakes and Yorkshire dales. We started off with a tourer sited there all year but as we were never going to tow it decided on changing to static as farmer will allow old statics which you can pick up cheaper than tourers! But you can still have tourers on there. Open season runs from1 March till end October. Site is on a river, has small cafe and kids indoor play area, allowed campfires. Only negative is the toilet and shower block, not so good, which was another reason for static. £1200 per year and leave there all winter on your pitch. Awnings allowed. Holme open farm
My dad is going to put his 'van on a CC site somewhere in the middle of Wales in April (for 6 months). There's nothing to do there and no phone signal, but he got the last pitch when he boooked a couple of months ago.
Don't know how much it cost though
