Hi guys
We are looking for a caravan site in East Midlands that is well sheltered.
We will need to be in a position to put an awning up so our dog can have some space however concerned about the winds we are having.
We are located in Nottingham but would like ideally to get out of nottingHam
Can anyone suggest anywhere that it nice, suitable for two children aged 7&11 but also sheltered
We are part of caravan club but not ccc
Looking to go next weekend
Any suggestions would be very welcome
Many thanks in advance.
From facility point of view ehu toilets and showers required

The Firs near Belper is fairly well sheltered and is a CC site . Heage windmill just up the road for the kids or Belper river gardens etc. Crich Tram museum 15mins away.
Keiron....
Carsington water CC site, although im unsure if its open at this time of year. Well sheltered within woodland and plenty to do around the reservior and visitor centre, local pub nearby, and the tourist attractions of Matlock bath and Ashbourne a few mins drive away.

I can highly recommend Sherwood Forest Holiday Park near Edwinstowe. My kids love it there. It is well-sheltered, has 2 play parks, good facilities and a dog walk path. Great for Sherwood pines, rufford, Clumber park and the major oak too.
