Been invited to major school reunion in August. If home situation allows would love to go (and go and see other friends en route). For that I need the car and, with the cost of fuel I'm wondering if I will be able to get a pitch for two nights (Fri/Sat)in a pop-up tent anywhere near Cromer at that peak season. I can't afford the cost of a single room in a b&b and both the people I've stayed with previously can't put me up - one has family for w/end and the other is disabled and has had her house converted to cope.

Does anyone know of a site that doesn't charge the earth for a singleton reasonably close to Cromer - so long as it has a loo - can manage a good wash in tent. Reason I say doesn't charge the earth is that, should things go pear-shaped at home, can't afford to lose enormous deposit.

I've not said I'd go because this needs to be sorted first - friends en route are the kind that just say "turn up and if we're away, key will be with neighbour"!

There are several CCC CS sites in the area and in August there should be a few THS's and some will have toilets and showers for less than £10 a night. You can't pre book most THS's but that is rarely a problem. As a though you might be there in carnival week for Sheringham or Cromer which will put a bit of demand on pitches close to the coast.

Woodhill park is nice, just outside Cromer. We paid £90 for a pitch for this summer (first week of August), 4 nights, 2 adults and a child with a serviced pitch, so fairly cheap!

I stayed at West Runton Camping and Caravanning Club site in October , was brilliant , can't wait to go again

the camping club has a temporary holiday site at the Cromer Academy school nr27 0ex, during August if you are a member, 10 quid a night showers & toilets available.
