We've been twice although it was a few years ago, lovely area and nice walk to a great beach. There was two good pubs and a chippy in the village and if you fancy a treat go to The Copper Horse at Seamer, one of the nicest meals we've had.

We went at Oct half term last yr. nice site, however if you book on the laurels area, some of the pitches are very sloping, however they seem to put seasonals on some of them! It was very quiet when we were there as very cold, but felt a bit like a car park, the other area was nicer in my view. Facilities clean and warm.
The play area is small but adequate our 10yr old enjoyed it for a short time.
If you have a dog the dog walk is great and you can let them off lead.
Whitby, Scarborough, Cayton beach all within easy reach, altho both paths to Cayton Beach are very steep.

Been there once, but never again. We were pitched so close together that when next pitch parked the car at the side of their caravan we could only get out of our awning via the end as there was only 12 inches between. All of our row were the same.

Friends of ours stayed at Cayton village and as far as I know they enjoyed it. We stayed at Browns and can highly recommend it! We had children, 12, 10 and 2.

We pulled in for some information with a view to making a booking for the following season, but before we could park up in the visitors carpark spaces, we were met by a 'Jobsworth' of a man who proceeded to grill us for all kinds of information before we could even get out of the car to get the required tariff and site leaflet from reception a few yards away. He wanted to know where our caravan was at the time, make, model and age, looked at our tow hitch, and took our registration number. A very unfriendly attitude indeed.

Needless to say, we never made a booking there, and found a lovely local CL instead for the following season.

Oh you met him as well. When we went he directed me to reverse onto pitch and before i could get out of motor he had unhitched caravan and not taken plug out and pulled wires out, so i had to re-wire it.

We went here last year

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=1031

Lovely site and very friendly staff. Short walk to the beach. They have a little cafe on site, its a van set in a little garden area where you can either take away or sit in the garden. They do cakes, breakfasts and breakfast sandwiches, ice creams. Play area for the kids with plenty of space to play ball games too.
