I have had my bus pass for 6 years and only used it twice, so I think I may well have to use it a third time if I want to visit Bath and Bradford on Avon, and find a decent campsite a few miles out of town.
Having camped regularly for years I now seem to be running out of places within my travelling range that I haven't been to before so I will certainly try to get to Bath and Bradford on Avon this year.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
You mentioned visiting an aquaduct. There is an aquaduct in Avoncliff which is walkable from Bradford on Avon.
A really nice and quirky pub/cafe in Bradford on Avon is the Lock Inn which is situated by the canal tow path.
Over in Bath the open top bus tours give a great introduction to the city, and the "Tower Tour" at Bath Abbey is a good way to admire the Abbey and get some fantastic views over the city.
Just thought I would share. Bath and Bradford on Avon are two of my favourite places.

Le Ranolien (Ploumanac'h)
Le Bois Courdrais (Cugen)
Chateau de Montfreville (Montfreville)
Yes, thanks for that, Mitzionline. I think that is the aquaduct I was talking about where the Canal crosses the River Avon.
I have never been to that area at all and it looks and sounds quite nice. I have almost made up my mind to stay at the Three Magpies at Seend and catch a bus to Bradford and Bath unless I can find a suitable campsite a little closer...still looking.
I cant remember the name of the site but we found a wonderful little campsite last year at South Wraxall. This was about 3 mile from Bradford-on-Avon, not expensive and a really helpful couple who run it

If you mean this one it is a Camping and caravanning club CS and I am not a member.
That is one of the problems I am having...most of the campsites in the area are CS's but thank you anyway.

Have you tried ringing any of the CS sites Bob? Many of them take non members, either for the same price or a £1 or 2 more.
Not yet but I will probably have to do that, thanks.
Or you could join the C&CC, just for a year. It is, I think, only £37 so it would probably work our cheaper than staying in the pub and the world would then be your lobster!

Argh! That suggestion made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck!!
I was a member once... for various reasons I won't go into now I spent about £80 inclusive of the joining fee before I actually got to camp at one of their sites
It now costs £44 to join and after adding that to your annual camping bill it works out expensive...although, quite rightly it would probably be cheaper than staying in a pub or B&B providing I used club sites or CS's several times.
There seems to be some quite nice CS's in the Bradford on Avon area so I will give them a ring and see if they will accept a 'guest'.

I stand corrected on that one. I am sure I saw £44 advertised somewhere.
However, it needs to be said that if you join 'offline' it will cost £42 and if you want to pay by debit or credit card rather than direct debit it will cost you a whacking £52.
One of the CS's I was looking at charge £15 a night with EHU. If I go for two nights that is £30...plus the joining fee of £37 makes a total of £67...for two nights solo camping? I would need to be able visit a lot of club sites or CS's to make it financially viable.
Update...just saw an advert...it is the Caravan Club who are charging £44 for membership with another £10 if you don't pay by direct debit. I knew I had seen that price somewhere
