Hi. I really need some inspiration in where to go in my tent with hubby, two teenage children and dog in May. We don't do all singing and dancing campsites. We're based in Nottinghamshire so a good central base to go from, I just can't make me mind up where to visit so asking you lot for ideas. Not Whitby area as we have a caravan there already and not Bath area as heading there in August.
Cheers Etty
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Peak District? Matlock has Gulliver's World (I think it's called), the cable car across the dale etc, also lots of walking/cycling etc. Can't advise on sites but there are plenty to choose from. Anglesey is lovely if you want seaside.
Thanks Anne. Gulliver's Kingdom is where I took my children when they were little (lucky if I get them away from their mobile phones and laptops nowdays :( ). Hubby is not too good with heights so think I'll have to rule Matlock out. Have been looking and think it maybe Scotland we head for ( Never been myself) Looking at Castle Douglas area.Think I'll try to find a place with no wifi and phone reception and maybe I'll manage to get more than one sentence from each child :)
We went to Grange Leisure Park in Mablethorpe last year. On paper it looked like a commercial all-singing-all-dancing site but I was pleasantly surprised (we went with family, one of whom had a static there). There was a clubhouse, a play area and statics, but it was very quiet (the kind we like, we usually go to C&CC CSs) nothing like the haven type sites (nothing against these though). My review is on here. It was good value too.
