Hi all we are (hopefully) camping at Beechcroft at the weekend, I say hopefully because last Easter we had to cancel our trip because of the snow! I have printed off a map of the site and noticed there are three camping fields any recommendations as to which is the best to camp in? A little nervous of the stories of the wind from the last week or so up in the Buxton area and just wondered if there were any 'sheltered' spots? Any advice would be gratefully received!

I don't think it's going to snow...can't help with choosing a field but might see you there thats where we are off with our caravan.
I'm sure you will have a brill time.
As you turn left into the tent field (or walk up the ramp from the loo block), there is little to no shelter if the wind follows you up the hill (From the south).
This is us towards the top right (NE) corner (Furthest away from main entrance)...
From that pitch in the top right, this is looking south, back down the hill to the loo block...
Little shelter to the right (East) where the dog walk & ball game area are...
This is the top end of the Eastern boundary, and the entrance to the ball field...
And not a great deal across the top (North) edge either...
If the wind is coming from the left (West), there are a few trees along that side, and the best of the shelter.
Those heavier trees to the left of the last pic are the start of comig back down the left (West) Boundary.
This is looking back towards the hard standings (with entrance beyond) in the SW corner...
All down to wind direction, of course.... but stop worrying... You'll be fine!

Hi SA2009
Its a very calm day today at Beech Croft and the sun has got his hat on :)
You can choose where to pitch once you have checked in.
After all the work we have done over the last few years, the trees are still growing but they have grown a little since Muckers pictures (Hi Mucker!! :) )
We look forward to seeing you and thank goodness we do not have snow like last year!! Have a safe journey to us. Jodie x
