Our youngest daughter is very fond of everything English and it is 35 years since my wife and I last visited England, so we thought that it is time to revisit England this summer. We are going to camp with our tent on C&CC campsites. And now I have a question about that and maybe someone on this forum can help me.
We only need electricity for recharging our phones and photo-cameras. Are there facilities on the C&CC campsites to do that, or do we always have to take a pitch with ehu? It's not for the money, if we get a pitch with ehu we certainly will use it. But in our experience (and of course taste) pitches without ehu are often nicer and of course it can happen that these are the only one left vacant.

I suppose that when we drive our car in unknown England, our Tomtom will be in that socket most of the time and our socket doesn't seem to have enough power to charge more than one device at the same time.

As far as I am aware there are no facilities on C&CC campsites specifically for charging phones etc. It is possible a kind warden may allow you to charge them in the reception/office but knowing the C&CC it is probably against the rules!

I'd agree with Bob61, but wondered if you are aware, as you mention using C&CC Sites, of their Temporary Membership offer?

As a retired C&CC manager (NOT wardens now) I have charged many phones etc in the office. I am sure if asked nicely they would certainly help you. You could always offer a donation to the flower fund on the site or the charity box.

Pretty much all modern cars have more than one power socket these days don't they? One in the back or the boot?

Alternatively you can purchase a power socket splitter

power splitter

This one splits in 2 but 3 way are available. Also USB.

You're obviously one of the kind Holiday Site Managers to whom Bob was referring!

Thank you all for the answers.

I understand that there are no special facilities. We will visit 4 or 5 campingsites, so it's gone be probably a mix of possibilities. Sometimes an ehu, sometimes a friendly manager and the use of a (solar) powercharger.

Yes, I am and want to make use of it. Over here I can buy it in the Dutch VisitBritain webshop.
