Hi everyone,

I am looking for some advice plus any recommendations for campsites that may be able to accommodate me.

I am in the middle of a divorce. The wife has moved out and I am left in the matrimonial home which is now sold Subject to contract.

I am in Limbo at the moment in that I do not yet have a firm date for exchanging contracts and therefore cannot secure a rented accommodation in case the house sale falls through and I am left paying for 2 premises that I do not need.

The other problem is that once I get an exchange date, I will have approximately 1 to 2 weeks to get out!

My thoughts have turned to living in my touring caravan for a couple of months until I get myself sorted.

I am looking for a caravan site near to south birmingham (where the M5 meets the M42) that would allow me to live in my caravan during this period. I would require to leave site at around 07:00 in the weekday mornings to get to work.

I am open to sites that provide seasonal pitches as once I get myself sorted I would plan to use the caravan for weekends away with my children. Plus a seasonal pitch arrangement would allow me to pitch my caravan now irrespective of an exchange date.

If anyone knows of a site that could provide this or if there are any site owners on here that would be interested, any replies would be much appreciated.

Plus if anyone can provide any advice on foreseeable pitfalls in what I'm trying to do then that would be good too.

I'll just add, I'm 46, a professional engineer, quiet and respectable of others so there would be no concerns for others using the site.

Hope to read any comments very soon, thank you.

Most sites will have a 28 day ruling on their license. However, it might be worth checking out the Caravan Club sites that do seasonal pitches - not sure on their ruling. Or even smaller privately owned sites.

Hill View CL site at Coleshill says it takes seasonal pitches. Only a small site and only has one review but quite close to the area you were looking for . Closest to m5 /m42 is the caravan club site at Chapel Lane, Wythall but you couldn't do a seasonal pitch there. Hope you get sorted.m

Been fulltiming since 2006, first in a caravan now a motorhome, look for a local CL /CS site they do have a 28 day rule but some will turn a blind eye to the fact once they get to know you, the main problem you will encounter will be not having a resiedential address, this leads to problems with vehicle insurance as they will not accept a care of address, also handy for doctors, banks, driving licence etc all though most of these will accept a care of address, It will definitely be easier for you if you could use a friends or family members address "as your own" so to speak and ideally get on the electoral roll, keep the fact that you are living in a caravan full time to yourself.

Thank you all for your replies. I'm now sorted with a site just 3 miles down the road. It's a huge weight lifted off my shoulders; at least I know where I'm going come D-Day. Brilliant!!
Apologies for my lack of knowledge of abbreviations but I have read "CL and CS" on so many forums and can't for the life of me work out what it means?
