Hi all

I am looking for a campsite in wales for the end of May bank holiday week and was wondering if anyone could recomend one. I was looking at Tenby but some of the reviews are mixed, I dont know wales whatsoever all I ask is a quiet site with decent toilets and showers and ECH, preferably not far from the coast and a supermarket of some sorts.

My tent is a kampa filey air 6 so a good size pitch is also a must

Any help is most appreciated thanks in advance

Jonny

Have a look at Manorafon Farm, Abergele in North Wales - it's one of my favourites. Quiet site, good clean facilities, traffic-free dog walking right from the site, ehu, spacious pitches, 5-minute walk to Tesco and the town centre, 15 mins walk/5 mins drive to the beach. Bonus of pygmy goats, pigs, wallabies and various small furries on site which should keep young kids happy. Not far from the A55 coast road so easy to get to Llandudno, Conwy, Welsh Mountain Zoo etc.

We will be looking at 4 different campsites for our trip to Wales this year and so we are copying all the information on Welsh campsites that has been posted on this and other topics.

You could try us, we are in the county of Ceredigion - it seems to be an 'undiscovered' county but we have some of the best beaches in Wales (IMO!) none are far from site approx 10 within 10 miles - you do need to take the car to all tho but plenty of car parking and cafes at beach side locations, also various national trust places to visit and of course the much coveted Bottle Nose Dolphins that can be seen from many places in the area such as Mwnt & New Quay. We are about 1 hours drive north of Tenby (it's a busy resort at popular times)....

Brynawelon Touring Park

If you can't beat em, join em, so we did! And then we sold it for a holiday let & Glamping pod instead 😁

Thanks Jakers. You have already been pencilled into our route as we head north from Llanelli to Anglesey.
Your site would give us a good base to explore the southern half of Cardigan Bay.

There is a small campsite (CL) near New Quay in Cardigan Bay located between Aberystwth and Cardigan that is below a tenner a night and a short walk away is a small toilet and shower block which was newly built in 2011. A tranquil well kept site away from any traffic noise so guaranteed peace and quiet plus there is a local bus service that stops at the end of the lane. There is a Morrisons supermarket in Aberystwth with Tesco and Aldi in Cardigan but there is a small shop in the nearby village that caters for most provisions. There are boat trips from New Quay harbour that take you out into the bay and you may see some Dolphins if you're lucky but New Quay itself provides a chippy, a pound shop, freshly cooked pasties shop, tea rooms and a few pubs around the area where you can eat out if you want. There are 2 reviews on this site but if you are budgeting carefully then this may well be a good option for camping in mid Wales.

We have decided that our van will not be ready for any extended trips by June and therefore we will leave our Welsh trip until the end of the summer instead.

We are off to Arisaig instead.

Hi all

Thanks for the replies, I have booked Bryn Gloch in snowdonia national park, the views look stunning it was a difficult choice we dont know wales at all and wales looks that nice we were spoilt for choice where to go so snowdonia and the surrounding coast will be a good start for us.

Many thanks

Jonny
