Wow Ann ! Lockerbie to Fort Augustus in one go is a bit much.  Budget for 40 mph - but you've been before, so you know our roads are slower. If you can't get into Poolewe (it's a popular site), there's an acceptable & much cheaper alternative (for a short while) at Gruinard Bay. If you have a caravan, don't even think about taking the single track road from Ullapool up to Lochinver - it's hard enough in a wee motorhome. When you say Stirling, Witches Craig is near there and a superb site.

Mancha - Wild camping in Scotland - a tent is covered by the access legislation, but motorised transport is not. But you should be fine if there are no signs saying "no overnight camping". You can't wild camp on Forestry Commission land, some Councils have gantries that stop access to some car parks.
